Take electric cars off the U.S Market due to the harmful effects of the battery and charging systems

Electric cars use lithium batteries that are extremely harmful to our environment and the way we charge them use electricity that is mostly created using fossil fuels. So I am asking that President Obama limit or ban the market on electric cars. This would have a positive effect on the environment because its believed that just one of the lithium batteries used can put out as much or more pollution than driving a hummer for several years
