Take Executive Action On Marijuana Reform Nationwide, Quit Imprisoning Innocent Americans

Created by P.E. on June 25, 2015

In this petition I request that President Barack Obama take executive action toward ending the thus far unsuccessful "War on Drugs" by removing cannabis from Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act.

We have had adequate time to perform any required research and tests to get accurate results. Multiple states have deemed THC as not only safe for human consumption, but for those with certain ailments, a beneficial aid. Marijuana policy is political at heart, removing it from the Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act will diminish its effect on the political system since it wouldn't be seen as "Dangerous" per the government anymore. Science has been unable to find any addictive properties as a part of the cannabis plant so far, though tobacco is sold even with evidence of addiction.
