Projections of sea level rise by 2100 are upwards of 6 feet which jeopardizes millions of coastal residents. The scientific community is of the consensus that this is human-caused (anthropogenic).
This WILL be disastrous particularly for low-income and underrepresented residents in these communities. We MUST act immediately towards adopting adaptation and mitigation strategies as discussed in the 2014 IPCC report such as carbon taxes, cap and trade, and general carbon reduction over and above the Kyoto Protocol of 1992.
"...driven largely by economic and population growth, and are now higher than ever. This has led to atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide that are unprecedented in at least the last 800,000 years"
