We the people demand immediate action to redress the rampant violation of our most treasured civil liberties by law enforcement agencies across our great nation. Inaction at the federal level to redress systemic abuse of power by law enforcement is literally resulting in the daily deprivation of due process rights and even the deaths of our fellow Americans.
This is no longer a party issue, a liberal or conservative issue, a black or white issue: this is an issue that imperils our most valued democratic institutions and jeopardizes domestic tranquility.
We, the undersigned, demand that the federal government take measures to hold police forces nationwide accountable to the public they serve through increased oversight, and improved training in non-lethal policing tactics.
