Judge Boyd gave 16 year old Ethan Couch probation for Killing four people. At the time of the accident Couch's BAC was .24 (three times the legal limit of an adult). Valium was also found in his system. After the accident Ethan told a friend "Im Ethan Couch, I'll get you out of this." Defense Attorney Wm Reagan Wynn stated that Ethan was a victim of Affluenza. Ethan Couch received 10 years probation and may optionally participate in an expensive rehabilitation center.
Judge Boyd has done nothing to build our confidence in the Justice System. Handing down such a light sentence will likely set a precedent for others in similar situations as Ethan's. Confidence in the judicial system and confidence in the law must be regained. Judge Boyd has failed in her responsibilities as a judge
