take a look at the standardized testing system and realize it is both ineffective and harmful.

Created by C.W. on April 23, 2013

While one may argue that testing in general is not a fair or accurate system of judging a student's intelligence of potential, tests such as the ITBS, or most prominently, the SAT are not only ineffective in sorting out the most valuable students, but also harmful in that they raise stress levels, drive teachers and students to cheating, all over a measurement of one's ability to fill in a bubble. In an ideal world, persons would be able to learn without being tested on it at all, but in this world we can at the very least find a more effective way of evaluating students, especially if the ultimate goal is not to pressure them, but to simply find the college that is the best fit for them. Judging a fish on its ability to climb a tree, so to speak, is not the best way.
