This petition attempts to address gun violence and gun control issues by focusing on ammunition.
When citizens have called for our government to stem gun violence or reexamine our gun laws we have been deterred by high powered lobbyist who use the second amendment as a conversation stopper.
Amendment II of the U.S. Constitution states that the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
Whilst people have the right to keep and bear arms there is nothing stopping the government from imposing a disparaging tax on ammunition for those arms.
By signing this petition you are asking the Obama administration to reduce the amount of ammunition available by supporting excessive taxes on both finished ammunition and the various components for making finished ammunition.
