It is common agreement that one of the biggest problems in our political system is the huge amounts of money being spent by “special interest groups” and it is a problem in both political parties. The result of this hijacking of our democracy is that the average voter feels helpless and congress is beholding to their benefactors, resulting in the gridlock we now see.
