Take a pay cut and suspend health insurance and pensions for all who are elected officials.

Created by M.J. on January 06, 2013

The need to help the people with medical and mental conditions and elderly needs is paramount now. Due to our economic climate, the officials who are elected to office should not receive a higher wage than 50,000 per year and should be cut from pension plans and other amenities to fall into line with the average American who has to pay for medical insurance, find own pension plans and take some of their money to give to the government. As American citizens, even the elected officials can receive social security benefits on top of pensions which makes no sense since the American citizen has to pay for it. Let the President and Congress take the money from these programs for themselves and put it where it belongs, in SSI, Disability, Medicare and Medicaid.
