It has become evident that the American people are interested in the legalization of marijuana with the recent events in Colorado and Washington state. Its medical use is backed by those who use it as such. Fair taxation for both medical and recreational use would result in a revenue windfall for both State and Federal governments as well as relieve an already over burdened penal system. It is time for this issue to be open and not swept under the political rug.
