Take snarky credit for low gas prices.

Created by C.G. on December 20, 2012

Every time gas prices approach the $4/gallon mark in the last few years, the media whips itself into an incoherent fervor of panic, and Republicans blame the President for "failure to control our own future", demanding that we drill for oil anywhere and everywhere to "solve" the problem.

This petition requests that the President give his communications staff a free hand to wield the power of sarcasm and snark to outrageously take credit for the recent spate of low gas prices. The hope would be to bring attention to the fact the US will NEVER be truly independent from the global fluctuations in oil prices, and to give the President an opportunity to have a meaningful discussion on the current and future states of renewable energy (ideally featuring real experts, not politicians).
