We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Take a stance on guns similar to the United Kingdom's stance

Created by C.B. on June 12, 2016

The recent shooting on the Orlando, FL nightclub is the deadliest mass shooting in US history, and one of the deadliest mass shootings in the world. Unfortunately, we've been here before. The extreme ease, compared to other countries, makes mass killings exceptionally common. The UK has banned most types of weapons for general ownership, and very rarely suffers from mass shootings. Guns are such an ingrained part of American life that many people will still be opposed to national disarmament. The Second Amendment was instituted to allow the people to fight a tyrannical government, but the available technology has changed in 225 years. The time has come for change, to save the lives of innocent people.
