It is past time we stop excusing the continued gun violence in the U.S. because our nations founders wanted every family to have a single shot musket in the home to mobilize a militia to fight the British. We have a standing military now.
Those same founders anticipated these issues when they designed a mechanism for changing the constitution.
1- Repeal the second amendment now.
2- Make the transportation of firearms across state lines a felony.
3- devolve authority over gun laws to the states, so that every state, county, and city can pass laws that are appropriate for each community.
