Information should be allowed to flow freely without corporations telling us what we can and cannot see. The recent ruling by the D.C. appeals court has essentially killed net neutrality and allows corporations to determine such things for us by limiting or cutting off broad-band to whichever websites they so deem. I counter the court's reasoning by pointing out that in many areas there aren't other choices due to exclusivity contracts made. This would mean that for many thousands of people there would be no say.
Beyond that, it is wrong that any entity not directly accountable to the people should have any say in what information we can or cannot access. This is a major issue and a step towards a dystopian and Orwellian future. Piracy is not an excuse for them to dictate over us.
