Take a stand against religious discrimination on the Temple Mount during the President's upcoming trip to Israel

Created by E.F. on March 11, 2013

We urge President Obama to take a stand against the ongoing discrimination against Jews and suppression of religious freedom that takes place at Jerusalem's Jewish holy sites. Jews seeking to pray publicly on the Temple Mount and at the Western Wall have routinely been subject to insults and physical harassment and assault while the police and military stand idly by. Jews, men and women, including numerous American citizens, have been arrested for such "crimes" as wearing prayer shawls, singing, and even whispering prayers. American respect for freedom of worship for all denominations shines even brighter in against the background of these recurring incidents. Instead of the requisite photo op, we urge the President to articulate a vision of how these sacred spaces can be shared by all.
