For decades, the cable providers in the United States have held near complete control of the media access of every person in the country. This petition requests:
1. Instruct the DOJ and the FTC to launch an investigation into possible collusion by cable providers to allocate geographic markets, engage in price fixing, and attempts to boycott programming content being made available online.
2. Instruct the FTC and FCC to place a moratorium on all television and Internet provider mergers.
3. Require television providers to license out content to Internet media providers.
4. Create a bill outlawing data caps on Internet access.
5. Create a bill that requires the cable providers to allow unlimited access to networks by competitors.
6. Create a bill that allows “a la carte” cable ordering.
