take the steps necessary to have the Friday after Thanksgiving, "Black Friday", declared a national holiday by 2013.

Created by A.H. on November 14, 2012

The Friday after Thanksgiving has in recent years become the ubiquitous economic engine for the retail and affiliated industries.

Black Friday has become a date of such grave importance to the retail industry that they have made the decision to encroach upon the long standing holiday of Thanksgiving. There is nothing wrong with this sales minded decision on its face value. However this decision has cost American families time together on Thanksgiving. Quality time with family is the reason most people work.

By declaring Black Friday a national holiday rules on time and a half pay will go into effect giving workers a higher pay rate for the time they sacrifice to be with their families.

A National Holiday stimulates the economy, drives a higher standard of living, and a better America.
