take steps to promote the idea of passing a Constitutional Amendment to limit the number of terms Congressmen may serve.

Created by B.H. on January 26, 2013

Many believe that career politicians are slowly eroding the validity of the United States Congress in that most of their time in office is spent building up for their next big election, rather than working in the better interests of their constituents. On top of this, the provision of health care and other benefits at the expense of the taxpayers for life for former Congressmen is an unnecessary strain on the economy, and can serve to shift Congressional priorities from where they SHOULD lie - serving the interests of the whole population they represent. This petition proposes that the Administration take steps to initiate discourse on the potential for amending the US Constitution to limit the number of terms Congressmen may serve, as well as reforming their benefit and retirement system.
