While it is clear that certain people are unwilling to budge on talks about the second amendment, perhaps there are simple initiatives that the public can engage in. The first being an all out effort by any interested parties to reduce the number of guns in society by melting donated and confiscated illegal firearms. The initiative can come with a minimal cash rebate on either a Federal or State level for every gun removed from circulation.
The second idea involves illegal gun trafficking and illegal gun possession along with selling guns over the internet or in stores with employees not specifically licensed to sell or possess firearms. The licensing should involve significant background checks, and the penalties for selling a firearm without proper licensing is punishable by law.
