Since 1988 Nestle has been pulling water from a California spring in Strawberry Canyon (a National Forest) on an expired permit.
In 2011, Nestle ILLEGALLY pumped 519 MILLION gallons. In 2014, 705 million gallons. The bottled water industry reported profits of $13 BILLION in sales in 2014.
Action needs to be taken against this foreign owned company who is raping the natural resources of our country, especially while California has been facing increasingly bad drought conditions.
If California doesn't have water, they can't grow food for the rest of the country and world.
Nestle should pay the state of California for all water stolen over the last 27 years and make positive environmental contributions to make up for their egregious acts. A desalinization plant would be a decent start...
