Television shows such as Teen Mom and 16 and Pregnant have encouraged and increased teen pregnancy. These shows were originally intended to display the struggles that come along with being a teen mom but have brought little insight into these issues. Instead they show teens that if they become a teen mom, they can end up on a tv show.
