Take urgent action to reduce the homicide rate in Chicago.

Created by L.L. on January 31, 2013

Hadiya Pendleton is the 42nd homicide victim in Chicago so far this year, where the number of homicides topped 500 last year. Not enough action has been taken to date to stem the violence. We ask the Federal Government, in conjunction with Mayor Rahm Emanuel's administration, to create a tactical plan to reduce the violence in Chicago, taking as many learnings from New York City as possible, and lead its immediate implementation. Please do not let another child with so much potential suffer the same fate or let good citizens of Chicago continue to live in fear.
