It is unfortunate that should we ever choose to vote for a third party candidate, we will feel like our vote is wasted should they fail to win, and our mainstream second choice lose by result. This is a major reason why the emergence of third parties in the United States is currently unfathomable. After all, who would risk such a thing? This is a simple but powerful change, and a positive step toward a healthier democracy.
