Guns should be taught as a second option for police. Taser should and always be first option. Any firearm used by police should be kept in the trunk, or in between the seats of the police car. Sidearms should be left in the car, in or on the dashboard.
An a more reasonable approach to police and firearms should be arming them with rubber bullets. Rubber bullets are still known to kill at close range; but any suspect shot from a distance by rubber bullet are sure to have the same effect without death.
This will go a long way and maybe end police brutality protest, or at least appease them a little. We should also focus more attention on creating humane weapons to take down suspects; an create reform programs to turn convicts to upstanding citizens: before, during, and after incarceration.
