Currently, religious organizations enjoy an exemption that no other organization in America enjoys. Under the IRS, religious organizations aren't required to file for non-profit status nor are they required to report their earnings or pay taxes. These organizations have become nothing but tax shelters for the religious in our country and it violates the establishment clause for the government to favor religious organizations when it comes to taxation purposes.
We ask the president to remove all tax exemption for religious organizations and require them to pay taxes like the rest of us. We, as Americans, must hold these organizations accountable and it is very hard to do that when the country we live in turns a blind eye to violations of the 1st Amendment by these organizations.
