Tax and legalize the recreational use of marijuana in the same way as alcohol.

Created by D.B. on June 27, 2013

Marijuana is considerably less dangerous than alcohol and should be legalized and controlled similarly. Additionally, it should be taxed equal to or greater than tobacco. To facilitate this, legal marijuana users should be made to take marijuana awareness courses administered by each state and at a price of the state's choosing. Legal marijuana users would could carry the state's ID or license to use, carry, and produce marijuana within the stipulations chosen by their state. All marijuana producers public and private would receive appropriate taxation for their respective licenses. This would allow law enforcement to combat "violent criminals" and create new jobs within the state government. Of course, violators of marijuana taxation and licensing laws would be fined.
