Tax Gun and Ammo Sales For Mental Healthcare

Created by K.K. on December 25, 2012

Tax the sale of all guns and ammunition to support and expand mental healthcare services in our communities. The ultimate goal is to reduce gun violence in domestic situations, gang activity, suicides and mass shootings.

Revenues generated could be distributed in the form of grants to existing or new state, county or city mental health initiatives. The grants could be applied for and overseen by local mental health professionals and law enforcement.

Local healthcare providers would be determining the highest and best use for the funds: local clinics, support groups, family therapy or one on one therapy.
