A tax or surcharge on TV and Internet advertising as a way to pay down the federal deficit.

Created by J.M. on March 31, 2014

Propose a 5 to 10 percent tax or surcharge on TV, cable TV, Satellite TV commercial advertising and internet advertising to pay down the national debt. There is way too much commercial advertising on TV and a lot more commercial advertising on Cable and Satellite TV and the internet. With all the money commercial advertising especially on Cable TV brings it I think it would be a great way to put a surcharge or tax on companies and advertisers to pay down the federal debt. I think as much money commercial advertising brings in if you were to impose a 5 to 10 percent tax or surcharge on commercial advertising you can pay down the national debt really fast. Plus a tax on advertising may reduce commercial break time on TV and especially Cable TV and may be a way to regulate advertising.
