"Tax the passion" - a counter-offensive to the resistance to gun control

Created by N.D. on December 15, 2012

For too long there has been a national outcry for "effective gun control" but to date all we get from our elected officials is carefully crafted 'lip service'. The incessant narrative from the NRA, its lobbyist and supporters invariably speaks to their "PASSION" for guns and their right to own guns. Since this passion is so fervent among 'gun owners', I propose that their passion be TAXED- as it is with tobacco products. The revenue could then be used by local and state governments to provide financial support for law enforcement organizations and companies tasked with the mission to implement enhanced safety measures / systems in public schools, transportation centers, and public offices. This TAX can be an effective 'counter' to the paralysis America has had in this regard.
