The success of an economic recovery lies squarely in the hands of consumers. No government program can be as effective as consumer purchase decisions; what to buy, where to buy, and how much to spend.
What the government can do, is to reward companies that sell American-made goods and their consumers that purchase them by providing tax rebates for such purchases.
The successful incentive would be contingent upon certification that the goods are 100 percent American-made, from raw materials to finished products, as well as verification that the consumer price reflects this rebate.
The amount of the rebates should be significant enough to make product pricing competitive and offset the retailers' costs.
