Tax Reform: Replace the current income-based tax system with a national sales tax.

Replacing the current income-based tax code with one that taxes one’s purchases (i.e., a national sales tax). Such a system would insure that all citizens would contribute to the cost of government expenditures but only to the extent that they have money to spend - that is, the more an individual earns the more they will spend, and the more taxes that they will pay. In addition to eliminating the current complex tax code, it would eliminate the burden of filing an annual tax return, it would capture previously unpaid taxes on income earned but not reported in an underground economy, it would significantly reduce the size of the Internal Revenue Service, virtually eliminate tax fraud, and stop political favoritism.
