Religious institutions within the United States are not taxed. As our government was founded with the statement that church and state remain separate, this should not be, as it gives direct government support to religious organizations. It could also be argued that religious organizations, in this way, are receiving unfair advantages over non-religious organizations and institutions, as they are not required to pay taxes, whilst non-religious organizations are required to pay taxes.
Religious organizations are also allowed to bend the law, as was in the cases of child rape by pastors. Those church leaders were simply shuffled around, using religious law institutions to bypass our government's law.
We must assert our government's law and collect due income from religious organizations.
