Tax religious organizations and houses of worship.

Created by B.P. on July 11, 2013

Not only is it unconstitutional to act in favor towards religion but our country looses up to $71,000,000,000 a year due to the tax free status of churches and houses of worship. This is not an attack on religion, but if the government were to tax churches, it would help lift a heavy burden on all citizens within the nation and allow more funding for important aspects of every day life like fixing roads and government funded places like schools. A study by University of Tampa shows that although may be 'charitable entities' Mormon church, for example, only gives about .7% of its annual income to charity. Also a study of 271 congregations found that about 71% of revenues go towards 'operating expenses'. It is unfair that churches scam the people and do not pay for it.
