We request that Congress and the President institute a federal sales tax on guns and ammunition. Revenue from the tax should be used to pay for enforcement of existing gun laws, improved mental health care, gun safety programs, violence prevention programs, a national firearms injury/mortality database, and a compensation fund for victims of gun violence.
