We, the undersigned, have one unequivocal appeal: Tax the wealthy. The Sequester is inappropriate and avoidable to cut public programs without increasing federal revenue. The national debt and deficit are out of control. The wealthy have unreasonably avoided taxation that the majority of Americans endure, which is reflected by the poor state of our economy. We demand by this appeal that federal taxation be increased from the current 33% to a fiscally responsible revenue rate of 36%. Furthermore, we demand those paying 35% undertake an increase to 39.6% taxation.
We must make these fiscally responsible revenue increases along with practical cuts to public programs. The Sequester is producing DRASTIC cuts to needed programs. We must bring an impartial solution to improving our economy.
