We are very worried about the spread of fundamentalism, and especially its propensity to indoctrinate children at an early age, when they are vulnerable. It teaches them that their particular religion, whatever it may be, is an absolute fact that must never be questioned, and this is very dangerous and damages the individual's abilities to critically think and decide for himself what he wants to believe.
In order to give our youth the whole picture, and allow them to make up their own mind, we should teach the basics of the comparative religions, including Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Atheism / Humanism, Hinduism etc. It should be reinforced that these are all belief systems, not proven facts, and students should be reassured that it is entirely up to them what they choose to believe.
