This petition is asking the administration to get involved in slowing down the advancement of technology or limiting the usage of technology for job elimination in the United States. Technology is out pacing job creation. The advancement in the Robotics and artificial intelligence is allowing machines to do human jobs efficiently without the need of having to pay a salary or providing benefits. As a result, millions of people are being left behind. Their incomes and jobs are being destroyed. Stuart W. Elliot in his study “Anticipating a Luddite Revival” explains that Robots could replace up to 80% of our jobs. Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, was quoted in Robotenomics.com saying that in 20 to 30 years robots will be as abundant as cell phones are today.
