We the people request that President Barack Obama, via an executive order, tell the Attorney General to remove cannabis from Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act.
We request this specifically on the grounds on how Schedule I is defined.
b)"drug or other substance has no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States."
c)There is a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or other substance under medical supervision.
Whereas, there is an overwhelming amount of evidence supporting medical use of cannabis; and
Whereas, there has not been one single recorded case of death due to consumption of cannabis;
Therefore we can see no other course of action but to remove cannabis from schedule I classification.
