Tell the Cleveland Police to Give Case Western Reserve University back to its students and faculty

Created by A.P. on July 16, 2016

The Third Amendment to the US Constitution states "No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law". The Cleveland Police are forcing Case Western Reserve University to close during the Republican National Convention, part so they can house 1700 "riot police" who will be brought in for the Convention. As the University is home to its student and these "riot police" are soldiers in all but name only, this is an egregious violation of the rights of the students and staff of Case Western. We call on the President and Congress to condemn these actions of the Cleveland Police and withdraw any federal funds being used for this crime.
