Our veterans have behaved bravely and heroically. Through their courage, integrity and character, they have answered the call of their nation and its citizens to fight to keep us safe - spending long periods of time separated from their loved ones and enduring hardships that most of us would be unable to bear.
In exchange, the citizens and government of the United States of America made promises of financial compensation and medical and other benefits. It is unconscionable that Congress is considering introducing budget cuts that would go back on those promises and cut benefits they have earned and so unquestionably deserve. Please tell Congress that the President and all citizens of conscience will not accept any economic policy that reduces the benefits to veterans by even one penny.
