In 1947, Congress passed a bill known as the 22nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which states that, “No person shall be elected to the Office of the President more than twice…” despite the will of the people.
Some critics argue no term limits gives U.S. Presidents unlimited power to become presidents for life. On the contrary, Presidents still have to be elected every four years.
Currently, there are no term limits on members of the senate or congress, why have term limits on the presidency?
The 22nd Amendment should not restrict someone that is focused on transforming the country from continuing his mission and being elected.
Tell congress it’s time for a true democracy, repeal the 22nd Amendment immediately with a vote and send to the states for ratification.
