Florida Governor Rick Scott is heralding his achievements on the a jobless rate plummeting to 6.4 percent in November, down from 6.7 percent in October. The reason for this decrease? The new, unemployment system that was designed and implemented in October by Deloitte Consulting, which came with a price tag of $63 million.
The “employment reinstatement” plan required for claimants to take a 3-part test that focuses on mathematics, logistics and reading comprehension in effort to determine if they are “employment worthy” in addition to being able to receive the support that they have already paid into.
The “employment reinstatement” was developed to deter individuals who have less than a college education to apply for assistance.
