We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Tell Obama to halt construction at Dakota Access Pipeline.

Created by A.B. on August 15, 2016

The construction of another pipeline is not only a threat to the displaced residents and communities. The potential of oil spills, fires, and explosions is not a matter of "if" but "when." This extremely hazardous fuel production has led in the past to billions of dollars in damages to communities and the environment. In addition, the capabilities and potential of renewable fuels to produce equal amounts of energy is not only practical and easily achieved with proper investment, but also unlikely to produce any damage to populations. The potential of long-term environmental damage from renewable energy is nil. As a Noble Peace Prize winner, President Obama should easily recognize the peace gained from halting unsustainable energy production. Please sign in agreement to let him know.
