While the public continued to fight the Dakota Access Pipeline, Obama approved two new pipelines. The first of these is the Trans-Pecos pipeline, which would be a border-crossing pipeline from Chihuahua, Mexico to Presidio County, Texas. This pipeline would run RIGHT UNDER THE RIO GRANDE RIVER!
As stated in the regulatory document here: https://www.ferc.gov/CalendarFiles/20160505155037-CP15-500-000.pdf , the corporation claims that it would benefit Mexico. In this time, when the world is working together to move forward with clean energy, there's much more we could do to help our ally. Such help should include NOT ENDANGERING ANY MORE WATER SUPPLY.
Big Bend Conservation Alliance and the Presidio County Commissioners Court are AGAINST this pipeline due to environmental risks.
