While the public continued to fight the Dakota Access Pipeline, Obama approved two new pipelines. One of these is the Comanche Trail Pipeline, which would be a border-crossing pipeline from El Paso County, Texas to Chihuahua, Mexico. This pipeline would run RIGHT UNDER THE RIO GRANDE RIVER!
As stated in the regulatory document here: https://www.ferc.gov/whats-new/comm-meet/2016/051916/C-1.pdf , the corporation claims that it would benefit Mexico. In this time, when the world is working together to move forward with clean energy, there's much more we could do to help our ally. Such help should include NOT ENDANGERING ANY MORE WATER SUPPLY.
El Paso Natural Gas Company, L.L.C. and the City of San Elizario are AGAINST this pipeline due to environmental risks.
