Tell Obama to stand up to big oil and stop Shell from drilling so close to the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

Created by J.D. on September 23, 2011

Shell has payed lobbyists over $36 million so they can drill only 16 miles from the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge's shoreline. Shell has already demonstrated how "safe" their drilling practices are by their spill into the North Sea. If they had a spill of the same magnitude as the BP spill in the Gulf of Mexico, due to the icy conditions that would make oil cleanup virtually impossible, and the melting of the polar icecaps caused by global warming. The results would be catastrophic. Animal species already endangered such as polar bears could go extinct and many others would follow. That is why it is crucial that the Obama administration stands up to big oil to protect America and her interests.
