Following the petition to replace Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill with a woman, the Treasury Department responded with the promise to place a woman on the $10 bill by the centennial of the 19th Amendment.
While their reasoning is understandable, this isn't enough. Andrew Jackson was a bigot and has no reason to be on the currency. If they refuse to put a woman on the twenty, then we demand that they replace Jackson with Hamilton (who laid the groundwork for the US economy and was the first Secretary of the Treasury and, therefore, has earned a place on the currency).
Mr. President, we petition you to tell the Treasury to remove Andrew Jackson. There need be no major redesign of the bill, simply replace Jackson's portrait with Hamilton's.
