Currently, there is a limit of 140,000 Green Cards issued to the Employment Based immigrants. This is a highly skilled labor force that is usually in the top 1% of their home country university. The priority dates rght now are ridiculously behind. For example, EB2-India is somewhere in mid-2004 which means, someone who started his Green Card in 2004 would be getting their GC today; after more than 8 years. COnsidering the average years of experience for an EB-2 or EB-3 to be around 10 years it is causing significant delay in innovation, housing recovery, start-ups, work/life balance etc. Temporarily increasing the quota from 140,000 to 280,000 would cut-short the delay and help potential immigrants settle faster and help the economy by forming their own start-ups and create jobs in the US
