temporarily suspend the employee-paid portion of the Federal Insurance Contributions Act tax (FICA tax).

Created by B.P. on November 11, 2012

In order to stimulate spending, and effectuate a tax break that does not overly benefit the wealthy, we hereby petition the President of the United States to, either by executive order or through cooperation with Congress, temporarily suspend the employee-paid portion of the Federal Insurance Contributions Act tax (otherwise known as the FICA tax). As this tax is only paid on the first $110,100 of income, it insures that all employees can benefit from its suspension, but without giving the wealthiest Americans a disportionately higher benefit. The increase in take-home pay will stimulate spending in an otherwise sluggish economy.
