term limit on both Senators and Congressmen.

Created by R.S. on June 12, 2013

My proposal is to place a term limit on both Senators and Congressmen. I believe that the deciding factor for this proposal should be in the hands of the public and not decided by the people that have been elected to the seats in question. My proposal is that the elected officials will keep the same length term per election cycle currently;
Members of the Senate serve for 6 years.
Members of the House of Representatives serve for 2 years.

I am proposing a term cap of;
Senators: 2 elections (total of 12 years in office as a Senator)
House of Representatives: 6 elections (total of 12 years in office as a Congressmen)
After the term limit has been reached the elected official cannot attempt another election in the same category.
